With all the controversy in the news this week about my beloved Cheerios, I thought it was high time that I came to their defense. I’ve been on a hiatus of sorts for the past few weeks, and there will surely be more on that in the next few posts, but I just can’t stand idly by while my favorite cereal is getting bashed. So as promised in my very first post, here is how Cheerios helped me snag my superawesome, one-of-a-kind sweetie of a boyfriend.
Over the next two weeks, we exchanged quite a few emails and chat messages and finally decided to meet. He was brand spanking new to the city, so it was up to me to find a good date spot. So I consulted my bestest friend – Ms. KV. “What do you think about Korean BBQ for a first date? See any potential hazards there?” I asked. The answer? “Korean BBQ is the way to a man’s heart and if he’s never been there before, he will think you’re the coolest chick ever for introducing him to it.” Alrighty then. Korean BBQ it was! Turns out it was a good pick. We sat across from one another for hours and chatted, laughed and burned little pieces of mystery meat. Ok, I did most of the burning. The girl sitting next to me was a potential hazard however with her overflowing beer that spilled on me, but I just joked about how good of a first date this was since we were still at the table and I was already getting head. I’m a charmer, I know. And if you didn’t get that you really need to google “beer head”.
So what’s your opinion on Cheerios? To the Acadian – I’m glad you were crazy enough to reply.
I like Cheerios. A lot. Which is a little weird you know, ’cause they’re so basic, simple, almost bland, but they’re not. And they don’t really seem like the right kind of cereal for a quirky girl who feels more like 16, ok, maybe 12 some days, than 30. You’d think I’d like Lucky Charms or Fruit Loops or something, but I don’t, ’cause I’m just full of surprises like that you know. And besides, that other stuff is not especially good for you, even if Tony the Tiger thinks they’re Grrrreat.
